Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
For people in the United States. Some US state laws (among them Washington's My Health My Data Act, and similar laws in Nevada and Connecticut) give you rights over "consumer health data". This page explains what of that kind Taste10 holds. Our full Privacy Policy covers everything else.
Who we are
Taste10 is provided by Perelli GmbH, Dorfstrasse 5, 6318 Walchwil, Switzerland. Contact: privacy (at) taste10.com.
What consumer health data we collect
- The allergies and intolerances you enter, and how severe you say they are.
- The diets you choose. Some of them (for example gluten-free or low sugar) may say something about your health.
- A history of changes to those entries.
- What the app works out about a scanned product in relation to them (for example a warning that it may contain something you avoid).
Where it comes from
Only from you, in the app. We do not buy health data or receive it from other companies.
Why we collect and use it
Only to flag, on each scan and each suggestion, what may not suit you. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Your consent
We collect it only after you agree, with the tick box on the diet screen when you set up Taste10. You can withdraw that consent at any time by removing the entries in the app (Profile) or by writing to us.
Who we share it with
We do not sell consumer health data. It is processed on our behalf, and only to provide Taste10, by:
- Supabase, which stores it in our database (in the European Union);
- OpenAI, our AI provider, which receives it with each scan to produce your result (processed in the United States). It does not use the data to train its models.
We would disclose it to others only if the law required us to.
Your rights
You can:
- ask whether we hold your consumer health data, and get a copy;
- ask for the list of companies we have shared it with;
- withdraw your consent;
- have it deleted. Deleting your account in the app (Profile, then Delete account) deletes it, or write to us.
Write to privacy (at) taste10.com from the email address on your account. We answer within 45 days. If we turn a request down, you can appeal by replying to our answer with the word "appeal"; if the appeal is also refused, you can contact your state's Attorney General (in Washington, through atg.wa.gov).
