Terms of Use
These are the rules between you and Perelli GmbH for using the Taste10 app. Written to be read, not to be skipped.
The one thing to take away. Taste10 predicts how much you might like something and flags what it thinks it sees. Both can be wrong. If you have an allergy, the app is a first check and never a substitute for reading the label or asking the staff.
1. Who you are dealing with
Taste10 is provided by Perelli GmbH, Dorfstrasse 5, 6318 Walchwil, Switzerland — see the legal notice. By installing or using the app you accept these terms.
2. What Taste10 does, and what it does not
Taste10 estimates how well a food, a drink or a dish is likely to suit your personal taste, and tells you what it believes a product contains. Those are estimates produced by software, largely from photographs. They can be incomplete or simply wrong: a label may be unreadable, a recipe may have changed, and a kitchen may not do what the menu says.
Taste10 is not medical advice and not a safety device. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent anything. If you have an allergy, an intolerance or any medical condition, follow your doctor's advice, read the actual packaging, and ask the people serving you. The app's own wording says the same, in the same words, wherever an allergen is shown.
3. Age
You must be at least 18 years old to use Taste10.
4. Your account
An account is created when you first open the app so that your profile can be stored. If you sign in with an email address, keep your access to that address safe: whoever can read it can reach your account.
Please keep the information you give accurate — particularly your allergies and your diet, since the app acts on them.
5. What it costs
What Taste10 costs, and what you get for it, is shown in the app before you commit to anything. Parts of it may be free, parts paid, and either may be offered as a subscription or a one-off purchase. We may also give individual people free or extended access.
We may change what is free and what is paid as the app develops. Any change is shown in the app before it applies to you, it never applies backwards, and it never removes something you have already paid for during the period you paid for.
Payments are handled by Apple or Google through their stores, under their terms, and a subscription is cancelled there rather than with us.
Using a free part of Taste10 gives you no claim that it stays free or stays available.
6. How you may use it
Please do not:
- use the app for anything unlawful;
- upload photographs that infringe somebody else's rights, or that show other people's personal data without their agreement;
- try to get at other users' data, or work around the app's limits;
- access the service automatically or in bulk, or copy substantial parts of it for another product.
7. Your photographs and your profile
What you photograph stays yours. To be able to give you a result, we need permission to store your pictures and pass them to our AI provider for analysis — nothing more. That permission ends when you delete the scan or your account. What happens to that data is set out in the Privacy Policy.
The app itself, its texts and its food catalogue belong to us and may not be reused without permission.
8. Availability
We do our best to keep Taste10 running, but we do not promise it will be available without interruption or free of faults. Features may change or be withdrawn as the app develops, and it depends on services from others — a phone's app store, our hosting provider, the AI provider — which can fail for reasons outside our control.
9. Liability
We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, and in any other case where the law does not allow liability to be limited — in particular for injury to life, body or health.
Beyond that, our liability is limited to what could reasonably be foreseen when using an app of this kind, and we are not liable for decisions taken on the basis of a prediction or an allergen note. This is the practical meaning of section 2: the estimate is a starting point, and the label is the truth.
Statutory consumer rights that cannot be excluded remain unaffected.
10. Ending it
You can stop using Taste10 whenever you like and have your account deleted — see Support. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks section 6.
11. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms as the app changes. If a change matters to you, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you do not agree, you can stop using Taste10 and delete your account.
12. Law and jurisdiction
Swiss law applies, and the courts of Zug, Switzerland, have jurisdiction. If you use Taste10 as a consumer, the mandatory protections of the country you live in still apply, including the right to bring a claim there.
13. Contact
support (at) taste10.com for the app, privacy (at) taste10.com for anything about your data.
